Who Is Jesus?

Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah—this is a concise answer. Our Father in Heaven sent His only Son on a mission. It all began in Genesis chapter 3, where sin entered the world. Jesus knew His purpose on earth was to redeem us through His perfect life, sacrificial salvation, and victorious resurrection. Even though He was sent from our Father in Heaven, He had the choice to end the mission at any moment, but chose not to out of love for us; He did not want Heaven without us. Jesus is the reason we can ask for forgiveness and live in His glory.

To clarify, to reach the Father, one must go through Jesus, the Son. Jesus is the truth and the only way. As stated in John 14:6 (ESV): “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Accepting Christ as our Savior means we receive instant justification before God (Romans 10:10). We are reconciled to Him and now have a relationship with the Creator of the universe. We are saved from being trapped in sin when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Accepting Jesus brings positive renewal. God loves us and has a plan for us! As stated in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Whoever tells you that being a Christian is easy is misinformed! Being a Christian means allowing God to take complete control of our lives, which may involve reforming us to mold us into something greater. During this process, the enemy attempts to tempt us because he doesn’t want us to have a strong relationship with God. This is why, as Christians, we pray and fast continuously; we need to ensure that nothing the enemy has planned can interfere with our relationship with God. God doesn’t promise financial success, wealth, or an easy life to Christians. Instead, He promises to strengthen us when we need it, encourages us to rely on Him, and assures us that we will be rewarded in Heaven. While it doesn’t mean those things can’t happen, it simply means that whatever God has in store for you will be yours if you are open and willing.

Accepting Jesus as Your Lord and Savior

Jesus is waiting for you; He wants you to allow Him to enter your life. Are you ready to acknowledge that we are sinners and cannot navigate life without Christ? If you are ready to build a relationship with our Savior today, repeat this prayer wherever you are:

“Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God and the Savior of the world. I believe that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to God. I choose now to turn from my sins, self-centeredness, and every part of my life that does not please you. I choose you. Forgive me of my sins. I give myself to you now.”

If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you have just made Jesus the Lord of your life. This is the Prayer of Salvation for your soul, and your name has now been written in the Book of Life. Begin your journey with Jesus by studying the Bible for guidance in your new life. Please also start attending a Christian-based church.
